Brussels
Just wanted to post utter revulsion at the depths of human depravity that some can sink to - yet again...
I have lived, worked and made many friends in Belgium, been through Zaventem airport and the metro many times. The fact that Belgium s attacked just shows the callousness and cowardice of the terrorists. Fuckers. Vive la Belgium, leve Belgie!

Indeed, terrible.
My 11 year old is on a school trip to France Mon-Fri this week, its not been a restful week at home and the Paris day was, rightly so IMO, cancelled.

Yes we're dealing with a unique enemy with this lot. In the past dealing with terrorist such as the IRA had the distinct difference in as much as the "bomber" wanted to stay alive.
But these scumbags have a half arsed belief, they are going to meet some mythical leader, who's going to see them alright. I suppose if you're thick a goat shit and smell the same, common sense doesn't come into it.

This is totally sickening and have commented as such on the main forum thread.
Unfortunately I can see this becoming a campaign throughout Europe. I use Brussels a fair bit as an interchange and the same as most airports, bus terminals etc, very much a soft target. What really pisses me off is that people in the community know these people life among them and do cock all. A high number are pretty much protected by their own community. |

Bat shit crazy etc. However a lot of these people come from intellectual backgrounds and it is dangerous to assume they don't have a certain level of education and intelligence. But yeah thick works as well. |

Defo thick, because if they think blowing themselves up along with 30 odd innocent people will change the minds of western politicians, armed forces and even moreso the public, then they are more dumb than the word thick entails.....
They are promised they will pull the trigger and enter paradise, nope, you just another dead Darwin Award. |

Islam has only existed since the 7th century and is in its relative infancy vs. Christianity and Judaism. Many of the problems are embedded in culture and socio-economic factors, enclosed communities, foreign policy etc., but the growing extremism and fervent belief is also exacerbated by the fact that the doctrine is very medieval and taken literally. Who knows whether with an extra 600 years of evolution things would look different...

Just a quick thought to throw into the mix here.
Yes the terrorists use their "God religion etc etc " as an excuse for their actions. If this was taken out of the equation personally I don't think they would stop - there are people out there who are inherently sick and twisted and will use any excuse to justify their actions. The simple fact is irrespective if reasons beliefs etc these people are inherently evil and should have been put down at birth.

Can we not just look at reducing the numbers of high yield nuclear weapons sitting around gathering dust and well, just turn some large areas of desert heavy countries in to glass.

Not saying it's nothing to do with religion but their Religion is an excuse Those " people" are evil plain and simple. Take away their religion and they will find another unifying cause

Everyone is involved, everyone all playing all ends against the stick, just look at the Saudi situation they fund these nutters but we sell them arms and treat them as friends add in the US, the Russians, the EU, Turkey, the Syrians, Iran + big business and global crime syndicates and assorted militia it's a John Le Carre novel on acid, but unlike a Tom Clancy novel there's no Jack Ryan to save the day. I'm sick of hearing about Muslims on the news (and I'll take a bet that most Muslims are as well) They don't want this shit either, they just want to get on with their lives and not be stopped in the street to be asked "What are you doing about it!!??" What the hell can they do? This global geo politics at play and nothing the ordinary man or imam can do to stop it.
