E92 what shocks and springs to get ?
Hi guys I want to change the shocks and springs on my m sport coupe as I don't like how soft and crashy they are . Could someone recommend a package for me please , I don't really fancy coil overs as I use the car daily . It's a 335d btw .

you could try some Bilstein B6 shocks on the normal BMW springs? (BTW, your front shocks are coilovers anyway).
Rear shocks are DEAD easy to replace yourself. The front ones will need a mechanic, as you'll need a spring compressor. |

Buy from Germany and save yourself a few quid. Granted, not as much as 6 months ago, due to the GBP crashing

B12Pro kit, end of. I had the same issues, and they've made the car tighter, lost all the wallowness and sponginess.
Road holding is much better. These are the ones for a 335D estate - http://www.mk-fahrwerkstechnik.de/BI...35-d-46-180599 |

Mine were changed last week - looked like this http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1238933
TWG changed them to BOGE shocks. Obviously better than driving around on what I was doing lol but they are very very firm. |

Looking at the B12 kit. Doesn't look like it comes with bumpstops or upper spring mounts. Do you need to re-use any of the stuff that was already on the car?

You will need to re-use the top mounts, but as already mentioned, since they will need to come out anyway, it's worthwhile getting new ones (I only replaced the front with new and kept the old for the rear...) When fitting the rear shocks, you will need to keep the bits that go on top of the shock where it connects to the car - one of the bits is a metal cap (one for each side). You can either replace these too (may be corroded) or use the existing ones. |
