LCI grille retrofit

Are the pre-lci and lci grilles essentially the same shape? If I was to trim the mounting bracket section from my pre-lci hood will the lci grille fit under the cowls properly? I know that the tabs are different, I am just concerned about fitment and if anyone else has tried this yet.

not overall factoring in the top part? The photo is photoshopped and it looks pretty darn close..

I think the bottom shape is different also.... If it wasn't, you'd be able to do an lci type conversion without changing your bumper, or use an lci bumper on a pre-lci.

Yeah every thread I've found regarding non-lci -> lci included the bumper, hood, lights for updated look and grilles.

I don't think you can get away with just doing the grilles.

Hmm bummer. I was hoping that I could trim the top grill area from the hood and retrofit. Oh well.
