Rear headrests

On the F30 model does the centre headrest still fold down if you don't spec folding rear headrests as per the E90?

It doesn't need to fold as it's very low profile.

What's the idea of the folding head rests anyway? For better vision?

I rarely carry anyone in the back so I've taken the centre head rest out as I find it quite intrusive in the rear mirror, even when folded down

I've ordered them this time because I'm hoping it means the kids car seats will fit flush against the back seats.

For £50 get them - makes the rear visibility much better.

I agree, the rear visibility with the standard rear head rests is dreadful. I'd spec this every time.

Maybe that's why then. Unless the configurator is wrong.

on my car i specced both rear folding seats and rear folding headrests. will be interested to hear if the folding seats give you folding headrests too, as that would mean BMW overcharged me £50

Only the centre one, definitely not the outer ones!

With split fold rear seats you get the folding centre for free. The £50 option is for folding left and right along with centre.
If you don't spec split fold you get a smaller centre rest instead.

In short, your centre visability is the same for any option, you're paying for a little more to the left and right.
