Morning all

Car is in for a minor repair today, but unfortunately this was only courtesy car they had available, no M3 or M5 was available...

All I can say is the seating position and view of the road you get is useful, but don't like the way it drives one bit. 2.0d MSport and a 6 speed manual gearbox, had to remember to press the clutch down when I came to a stop....its been a while since I've driven a manual box.

The service from Elms Bedford over the last 5 years has been exemplary, Rob and Barrie know what customer service is, they have always looked after me and my cars really well.

I took my DO NOT WASH sign with me, but they know me too well and had one already printed ready to go in the windscreen.

What courtesy cars does your dealer normally give you and do they provide a first class service?

I got given this thing last time mine was in.
Gutless beyond belief. The only thing it had going for it was a comfortable entry/exit into the driving seat. It had some sort of bright orange trim on the doors inside that looked hideous when lit up at night.

I have a good relationship with the dealer and normally my sales guy will lend me his own (company) car if mine goes in for anything. Unfortunately on this occasion he was on holiday

Haha same, got my wife the qashqai as well, to be honest one of the best cars we've bought and very good value for money. Not to mention their customer services

I used to audit Elms when I was doing my accountancy training years back, used to love going there - have they still got the nice coffee bar ?!

It gave me a good insight into dealer margins that car manufacturers and dealers make !

Nice, what did you think of the 7

Always was well looked after when living in England. Still to build up a rapport with the local dealer here. They have a very nice coffee lounge, so that's a good start.

Yes, nice coffee machines and refreshments in the waiting area...it's quite a small site as you know, but very personal which I prefer

Didn't like it. Much too big and comfortable for me, but the kids loved the TV on the screens in the back. It was surprisingly quick off the mark for something the size of an ocean liner though.

It was nice to have for the weekend but I was very glad to get back into my car afterwards.

Nice one, lucky you, how was the 7 series?

I think it will give the Mercedes S class a run for its money now finally, don't think it will take top step, but it's closer than ever before.

Ultimate comfort and pure luxury...

Are they as good as I hear they are, what's the build quality like and overall drive?

Which one did you get?

I tried to persuade my Mrs that they are not like the old Jap cars, but she will not have any of it. Likes the German brands too much...

I had a fully load 320d m-sport touring for 8 weeks from Elms Stansted, whilst work on my old car took place. Convinced me to buy the Touring I have now.
Im not really fussed about courtesy car status, as long as I get a car for the day then Im happy.

We have a Qashqai too, a great value car, totally faultless over 50k in 3 years. And the cheap servicing from Nissan is a lesson on how other manufacturers should behave IMO.

I have been using Elms Bedford for the last 5 years for all servicing and parts after a few bad experiences at another local dealer where my car was damaged on several visits. Great service and very competitive on pricing.

Lucky you - I got DC Cook (Nissan, Renault and other dubious brands) - pile it high and sell it cheap, even then it was all about hitting volumes to get manufacturer bonuses....

Given I trained in Sheffield there were much less glamorous jobs though.... which I by and large managed to avoid!
