Servicing modifications and warranty woes ???

Got my service indicator showing my cars due for a service in 2500 miles so I'll get it done in about 1-2 months time to try and max out the service plan

So my issues are . I've got a couple of suspension mods and don't know what to do my thoughts are

Strut brace - approx 10 mins to take off so it's coming off prior to the service and then straight back on

Wheel spacers just bought a set and an keen to experience their testosterone enhancing benefits so do I stick them on this weekend when I hopefully put the summers back on and take them off again prior to the service

Do I leave them off until after the service

Do I put them on and leave them on for the service and hope I don't get any issues and allow BMW wriggle room to get out of any issues - I believe adaptive dampers don't come cheap.

Any thoughts comments experiences welcomed

Pita I know but I would remove everything you can. I would think they would find any excuse to get out of any warranty claim.

"Wheel spacers fitted sir, That's definitely why you have corrosion on your bonnet. Sorry but we can't cover this under warranty any more"

Just my cynical side

What undue effect will a strut brace and wheel spacers have had on the car, especially the mechanicals ? Unless your wheel bearings are shot, none.

In my experience leave them in place and build a good relationship with the service manager - you may find he's interested in your mods.

I have no choice but to leave my mods as-is, and the dealer hadn't batted an eyelid. The BMW warranty has covered everything that's required rectification/replacement (quite a bit) because the dealership and I know that the work that I've had done hasn't effected the faults that have been found.

Sounds like your car is going in for a routine service - don't worry about it.

Leave them as they are. I've had my car serviced 4 times at 2 different dealers with all the mods you have and more and not had any problems at all.

Yes just a routine first service.

Know the ACS springs won't be an issue as ACS make up the shortfall.

The man in me says stick it all on and to hell with them

The fretter says it's an hour and half job and you sneak under the radar.

I had a Chassis error keep coming up on the display (car has a remap and MPSS tyres and ACS springs )turned out to be a wiring loom fault which could have been due to fitting the ACSsprings (non franchised dealer maybe not as proficient as needed) all replaced under warranty and they even honoured my lacquer peel claim for a new alloy wheel (peel was the size of a 5p)...it does help to use the same dealer that the car was purchased from

Worried about there being an issue now or in the future with one of the suspension components say for arguments sake an adaptive damper which I believe are quite expensive.

Presume the dealers will put a marker/ record the fact that the car had some sort of suspension mod and then could use that as an excuse to void the warranty.

Thinks it's more about peace of mind really as if the dealers don't know there are any mods can't then use that as a reason to void.

They'd have to have a good reason. My car is well modified and brings up no flags on the me system.
MarkG335 has had a damper replaced under warranty with ACS springs on.
And ACS will cover you even in the tiny chance a spring was to blame. The strut brace does absolutely nothing so it couldn't be implicated in anything.
So give you don't have anything wrong with your car in the first place I think you're over worrying about nothing.

You're probably 100% right on that.

On the other hand for approx 1 hr of my labour it's a peace of mind thing.
