Brake shudder - warped discs are a myth!

Hi

Has anyone succesfully removed brake shudder by sanding their brake discs?

The reason I ask is, that according to Brembo, there is no such thing as warped discs! However, brake pad material can be transferred unevenly which will give the same result.

Edit: It is Stoptech that claims the above http://www.stoptech.com/technical-su...d-other-myths#

False! I've had two sets replaced in the last year due to being warped. Admittedly it wasn't the discs at fault (they didn't warp of there own accord) but they were warped nonetheless.

Sanding? do you mean skimming/machining a few thou off?

Nope - I mean sanding, with garnet paper apparently:

Google: garnet paper brake rotor

Ill give this a try in the weekend

No turns out the front wheel hubs were damaged which screwed up 2 sets of discs.

Edit: don't worry this wasn't on an F30

They are correct it's always uneven pad deposits. As soon as you feel it you need to bed them in. If not you can always get it out but you might have to use a more aggressive pad.

My dad ended up getting 100k+ on his original brakes by doing this...granted he drives normal.
