AlloyGators

I have these on my F56 and they're great - discrete with excellent protection.

Does anyone have them on annF30/31 with 442M? Any pics?

Thanks

I use Rim-Pro Tec. Much easier to install than alloygators

I watched some Alloygator videos on Youtube and concluded that while the added protection might be welcome, they detract from the look of the wheel, especially the coloured ones.

I've used Alloygators for 2 years as car is street parked in London and a must for us - now on 2nd set as originals got very tatty so replaced when changed the tyres. I have a friend with an Audi A4 on 19" wheels and they look a right mess without them as lots of kerbing damage.

Not for me. I'll just carry on being careful parking.

Not for me either.

Park assist and surround view.
Plus a bit of care and the Mrs is well briefed on the cost of new wheels!

Spend the money on Surround view and mirror pack to get a good view when parking of the kerb, that would be my preference. Also not letting my wife drive my M4, that seems to help too

Was specifically looking for pics on 442Ms

As I said I have them on my F56 and think they're great.
Perhaps they look better because they are the black ones, on black rims:

Bought some got Fat Kid 1s focus but then got worried that fitting them might damage the finish as he has his rims painted gloss black( no innuendo jokes please) so might stick them on flea bay

I read somewhere they can cause a puncture? Maybe a grey one matching orbit alloys would look ok.

I'm the OP, and have them on my F56 - they work and have saved me damaging my alloys on 2 occasions in the past 12 months. I'm convinced by their usefulness but just concerned they won't look good on my 442Ms on the incoming F31, so just wanted to see some pics if anyone had them

So do mine but did not stop kerbing damage from a pretty modest scrape of a kerb when reversing.

Depends where you live I guess - most people posting have lovely big driveways, if I did in London then wouldn't bother either main use is parallel parking on the street.

I prefer them to the scraped alloy look I see on most streets - different from the old days of wheels trims that we cheap and easy to replace and high profile tyres!

I had them over a period over a couple of years to protect a set of diamond cut wheels and to be honest,I wasn't convinced.
On a trip to Skye,I found that one had come off on the drive up.This was replaced foc as due to the fitting process, this obviously shouldn't have happened.
After finally deciding that they generally looked a bit shit,I took them off and found that the rim of the wheel had been marked, where the gator lock had been placed. This was enough to warrant a refurb on each of the rims.
I don't really have problems with my parking and I have a drive,so they were a bit overkill!
