Android USB connection help

Can people with Android phones let me know if/how they play music, spotify etc through USB please?

My bro in law has a samsung galaxy & a 2012 F30 with CIC pro media, but he's not able to get anything to work over USB!

I'm going to there's today so I'd like to arm myself with some advice on this before I go, as I know feck all about Android devices!

I beg to differ, BT audio quality is crap compared to USB!

He doesn't have BT streaming either though, so maybe I'll be able to code EBT & it will fix both.

Yes it's fine, but USB is definitely noticeably better.

Also iirc on CIC you can't skip tracks on sw or idrive controls on BT, or maybe it's album artwork you don't get.

Nothing you can do about it. I think it's a Spotify problem actually and it just flat out won't work on Android devices. Works on my wife's iphone but not on my SGS6.

Really annoying. Doubt they will fix it though as they would prefer people to pay the £150 a year for online media (deezer / napster).

I know it's a bit "old school" these days, but USB drives are very cheap and provide good audio direct from the armrest socket.
