Oops with USB map upload

I have downloaded the up to date Europe map 2016-1. And onto a new USB. However, the car system does not recognize once I place the USB.

What can I do ?

I have July 2015 with ProNav and enhanced BT

Are you using the correct version (Premium / NEXT)?

Are you using a Mac? If so, the Mac format of a disk in FAT leaves a couple of small hidden files that prevent the use from being recognised by the car.
Solution is to Google the issue and find / delete files or to use a pc to format the USB ( and copy the map)
If you are using a PC I've no idea why!

I downloaded an app for my mac that automatically cleans up the USB and removes the hidden files that the mac creates

I downloaded the maps as defined on connected drive but car won't pick it up from sub port in arm rest ... I used of and formatted FAT32. We will try harder

If you have formated FAT32 on a Mac you may have ds_store files for example on the drive. Use Blue Harvest and that I'll sort it.

Some have had problems with USB 3.0 Try using a USB 2.0 drive.

I wondering whether someone is able to help me. I am using a mac, and trying to download the 2016-1 NEXT map update.

I have the BMW Update Manager open, and when I click "Download Map Update" in the Connected Drive web page an 'instructions' window opens. When I click "Start Download" in this window a dlmconfig files downloads, but then nothing happens, and BMW Update Manager closes.

Any ideas?
