Paint protection
Have any of you did paint sealant any sort of protective coating on the paint?
Where did you have it done? I'm in Seattle area and wants to look for a descent shop to preserve the paint for years to come! Also, preferably reasonably priced lol (not cheap, just reasonable )

I had a clear bra (Xpel Ultimate) installed and the entire car sealed with cQuartz Finest immediately upon redelivery after ED. I had it done at Metropolitan Detail in Bellevue.
Be advised, it costs money for quality work. All said and done I paid $3800 for the service. My thinking is that you need to start right to keep the paint in good shape.

First post, had my M3 for two weeks now! I had Xpel ultimate done today at Bespoke in Bellevue. Newer shop that came highly recommended from Bel-Red Auto when I was having my Audi touched up. Talk the Jeremy or Joel and they can give you a super competitive quote.
They even sent me photos of the progress as the day went on. I will post some pics. |

Progress photos and tint by Bespoke, which they texted me during the day. They did the full hood, front fenders, door cups, 1/4 of the roof, front pillars, door edges, top of rear bumper and mirrors. They clay bar'd and waxed the car before putting down the Xpel. I quoted out met detail, accutint and these guys. Best to work with by far.

I had my whole car done in XPEL. All painted surfaces/CF, etc. The whole thing. All at NW Autoshield in Seattle. Quick, priced well, great service. They only do tint and xpel. nothing else.
Metro in Bellevue is top notch and you pay for that. $3800 was probably the front clip, mirrors, door cups and rear bumper top. The rest was opti.

Accutint in Bellevue - partial Xpel $800. That's the front, half the hood, half the front fenders, door edges, door handles and rear trunk area. I wish I would have gone with the full front and full fenders for a little more. Then Opti-Coat Pro (from Auto Geek) applied myself. Stuff is awesome. Spend a few hundred and get the Griot's BOSS system (though I use Optimum's Hyper Polish instead of the Griot's stuff) and learn how to use it. You'll come out way ahead.

NW Autoshield is similarly priced for the same as AYTifosi got, at $695. Do the full hood. It is more than double to do that with full fenders but it gives more protection and you don't get a dark line down your hood if you don't wash your car for 2 weeks.
I looked at Accutint's work. That was good too. I picked NW autoshield. Prices, speed, quality. If I didn't have to pay for it, I would chose Metro because they take the bumpers off and the door handles off, etc. but the pricing is in another bracket. Note, they do offer free wax if you pay for a handwash for all the xpel surfaces the did. so if you do the whole car, which is probably $8k with them they would wax the whole thing whenever you paid just for the handwash. It would pay for itself after a couple years if you had your car washed 20 times a year. Note I will always refer NW Autoshield because they were great to me and a couple of my referrals.
