European Delivery Question

Hi everyone!

Still a year and a half away from the end of my 2015 M235i lease but slowly starting to consider doing a European Delivery in Summer/Fall 2017 for a MY2018 M240i or M2 depending on lease rates etc.

With the LCI set for MY2018, it's important to me that I manage to wait until the MY2017 cycle is over. Here is my big concern: my lease expires on 10/7/2017 which is really not ideal. After reading a few other threads, my understanding is that I should be looking to place my ED order 8-12 weeks before pick up, which would technically be in June to accomdate an early August pickup and early October delivery in Miami. Since the F22 SOP seems to be July, will I even be able to place an order for the MY2018 this early? Should I be looking to extend my lease by a couple months with BMW USA? I hear they may acomodate this if it involves you buying a new BMW.

Appreciate everyone's help.

I sort of ran into this last year on my car. I went to order my car in February for a mid-August delivery, and due to the model year changeover I couldn't do it that early. The order book opened the end of May, I ordered my car June 1 for an 8/21 ED. They built the car the end of July, I picked it up on 8/21, dropped in Paris on 9/12, and it was re-delivered on 11/11.

Re-delivery took ages because it had gotten a couple dings in Europe that they fixed at the port (took 3 weeks). So you should be just fine, especially if you are going to do the more usual 2-weeks or less in Europe. Once the order book opens, you can basically schedule an ED for a week or so after SOP of the new model year - I could have done as early as mid-late July with no problem, but had to do mid-August to have enough vacation accrued.

I know they will be happy to be flexible on the lease for repeat buyers - one of my BMWCCA buddies does ED for every new lease and has shifted the lease ends around by months to accommodate (he is on something like number 8). I buy my cars so no worries there for me!

You should be able to extend a few months, or if you have a good relationship with your dealer they can probably give you something to drive in the interim. My M235 lease is up next May so I'll have a few months before my RS3 arrives in August / Sept and my dealer has confirmed they'll give me something pre owned to drive for
The summer. Hoping for something with a drop top but whatever they give me
Will be fine.

I thought that if you order another BMW, then BMW lets you extend your current lease for a few months.
