Question Wanted: the owner of this E90 (Blackline - clearline taillights)

Hi all,

there seems to be some confusion about the E90-taillights. We all know the blacklines, which is an Original BMW-part. However, there are also pics around of whitish taillights (on some forums referred to as 'clearlines') which I personally like very much (see pic).
Since I wanted to order them, I checked with my dealer who forwarded the question to BMW Belgium. Answer: BMW only manufactures the blacklines and they are currently not planning on any other type !
So my question is: are the pics with the whitish taillights photoshops? Is there another manufacturer and if so... who? I wonder if they really exist at all...

Maybe the owner of this E90 can clear things up ?

Grtz,

CL312

It might be a photoshop, or the owner of that car could have gotten lights cutom made.

BMW used to sell the white lenses for the E46, and after a while - almost every aftermarket company was doing it - perhaps those are just different aftermarket lights?

They do look nice though!

They do look good, but they have been Photoshopped.

Look closely and you can see absolutely identical reflections, etc. on all parts of the car, including inside both sets of lights.

The shadows on the ground are also identical, so unless they swapped the lights in less than 2 minutes and didn't move the car at all, the photo is a fake. Nice idea, though.

Yup, that's a photoshop from way back before blacklines were even officially available.

looks photochopped.

i have a feeling an aftermarket company will come out with "clearlines" or "whitelines." it'd be a cheap upgrade since you would only have to replace the outter lights.
