here are some school of thoughts:
1. car looks cleaner 2. to disguise el cheapo 325 model 3. the ultimate sleeper car in 330 4. it's optional in europe 5. my car, my money, i do what the hell i want to do! 6. if kumar shaves his pubic hair, y can't i shave my badge? |

Yeah, all those choices apply but most people seem to do it because they like the cleaner look or don't want others to know what model they have

As a 330i driver, I hereby deem debadging to be stupid and poser-ish... until the 335i hits the streets, at which time I'll simply be a 3-series driver.

My car was badged incorrect at Munich delivery and they didn't have the 330xi badge in stock. The dealer was supposed to put it back on, but probably didn't notice, so I just said forget it. I'll go without the badge and be inconspicous.

I've heard of people "upping" the class of their Mercedes' by changing the badge numbers. Now, I know no E90Post.com member would be so shady, but it's probably happening to some degree.
While I like the look of debadged cars, I must admit that when I see a debadged car, my gut reaction is what are they hiding. Unless the car's way over the top.

I have to say when I read the title I thought here we go again! LOL I think the E90 looks great with a nice clean shaved ass, which is why I shaved my 330i on the first night...

I have a 330i w/sport package and mine is debadged, ordered it that way. That's the way my wife wanted it, I think it does look cleaner. My M3 isn't debadged but I didn't see the point when it says ///M3 on the side vents. We know what model we have, don't need the ass to say it.

I ordered a 330d debadged in Belgium because:
1: less prone to car jacking if they don't know what model it is. 2: less jealous people looking at the car. |

These days, debadge is a fashion. But I have not come across anyone with an M3 would debadge the M badge and stick a 325i badge to his car; or he is into a crime something

Im thinking of debadging my 335i when it comes in september, but i have a question.
Lets say i wanted to sell the car in a couple of years, is it easy to badge it back up? Will the dealer notice the badging missing and put it in his records and then onto carfax or something?

I highly disagree. In Europe it's a (free) option to order your car debadged. I think it's a much cleaner look. I know two people personally who have debadged M's, for this reason (cleaner looking). I have been thinking about debadging my car as well to clean up the rear end. I would be having the same thoughts if I had a 330 as well..
It's funny the comments that the 330 drivers have about debadging... I can't wait to see how many pompous 330 drivers making negative comments now about debadging open up the DIY for debadging when the 335 comes out..

I tell every person that I have a 325i even though I have many of the small upgrades a 330i has (162's, chrome trim all around, etc). I do have mine debadged (mainly for detailing purposes), but never for a minute do I tell people I own a 330i or hide the fact that it is a 325i.
I am a proud 325 owner, and to be honest, I dont think the 330i is that much better than the 325i performance wise, so Im proud I didnt 'waste' the extra money on the 330... |

By the way... some of us are not so image conscious that we have to worry about 'owning the highest model.' But then again, there are people who will buy the more expensive one because it makes them feel better. My guess is you are the latter... |
