cornering light question on e92 adaptive headlights

So I learned today that the inner projectors are used for the cornering lights when I turn left or right at certain speeds, the inner projector lights come on to aid in illuminating that side of the vehicle in which I am turning into.

My question is:

-what size bulb is that?
-Where does the light come from on my bright lights?

I always thought the high beams were in the inner projectors. So now I'm confused where my high beam light is coming from if not the inner most projectors.

E92 has what's called a bi-xenon standard on all models. The shutter in the projector will move depending on what setting you're using. Low beam = less light, High beam = the most light. In other words, your xenon projector is your low & high beam.

Oh, and the cornering lights are H3 bulbs.

When you "flash to pass" or pull on the headlight stalk, the inner lights come on. When you actually turn on the high beams, a shutter in front of the HID bulb lifts, raising the cutoff point.

Apparently that is why they call the headlights "bi-xenon", as it is the same bulb for low and high beam.

I wonder if we pull forward on the stalk to activate the true highbeams (bi-xenon) if the D3 bulb also lights up?

Flash to pass on E92 will always fire up the HID high beam. The inner H3 bulb is strictly for cornering lights.
