BMW E91 DAB aerial/antenna - where???
Hey!
I know after searching on google that the DAB-III aerial location is a mysterium for the E91.. Does anyone know where OEM E91 DAB-III antenna is? I know DAB-L antenna is in the sharkfin, but where is DAB-III? E90 got it in the rear window, but E91 is different... Someone are saying that its in the rear quarter glass, but can't find any rear quarter glass with aerials.. no partnumbers for it either.. I can only find part number for the TV/DAB antenna amplifier, that is connected to both the DAB tuner/CIC/NBT, and the TV module and of cource also to the antennas, but i can't find out where it is mounted on the car. Does anyone know? Im doing an NBT retrofit with DAB+, and i would like to do it as close to OEM as possible, but can't find the damn DAB-III aerial.. In Rheingold i got a picture of the E91 aerial system, and on that picture it is only showing the DAB-L band aerial in the sharkfin.. E91 and E70 are much similar regarding the aerial system and the E70 picture shows the DAB-III and TV aerial in the rear quarter glass, and the DAB-L in the sharkfin, but it doesn't exist for the E91.. Strange.. The picture for E91 aerial system, shows that the the TV antenna is in the rear quarter glass, but doesn't mention DAB-III.. does anyone have a partnumber for that window? E91 rear quarter glass: E70 rear quarter glass: Any help is much appreciated! Last edited by bjorneoen; 02-23-2016 at 02:33 PM.. |

it is on the right rear side window, with tv antenna and antenna amplifier with two outputs near this window
if your car do not have factory TV option your side window would not contain this antenna and amplifier and you'll need to replace window glass and add amplifier to get this antenna

I'm guessing a nightmare? My long term plan for my car is NBT with DAB, so I'd be interested on the info! I'm assuming the correct part number for the glass is: 51377222256 Any details on the OEM part number for amplifier that is required? |

Ptpending - what are your thoughts on this?
Part no:6 http://www.bmw-etk.info/parts-catalo...70/65206947252 Would that work, and be hidden in the bumper? |

You have the E92 DAB bumper aerial, part 6 from the diagram?
What do you mean about the spoiler? Can you PM me? I'm not sure which parts I need for DAB retrofit, I will be doing NBT, not CIC DAB. Thanks! |

since cabrio car do not have solid roof or glass to mount sharkfin antenna, they have antennas deployed in rear bumper and on front windscreen. e91 have plastic rear spoiler with integrated stoplight where you can deploy dab antenna with amplifier from cabrio car i think there is no big difference between nbt and cic antennas because rear glass antenna amplifier with dab from F22 do no have any additional wire other that antenna coaxials

So you put part no:6 from that diagram inside the rear roof spoiler of the E91?
Is the spoiler not solid, how does the antenna fit inside? |

I see.
Do you think it would work if it was hidden in the bumper on E91, with NBT Evo retrofit? Would it require a diversity antenna? |

i believe that e91 stoplight spoiler is best place for such antenna
nbt require it's own diversity amplifier because it's quite different from e-series amplifers e-series have one coaxial to amplifier and smart amplfier with power and control bus f-series with prof HU have two coaxial to amplifier and there is no any additional wires to amplifier
