Just Traded Saturday

Just traded my 07 328i for a 335i coupe, crimson red with black interior...any opinions on first mod?

JB2H - Seems to be a cost effective route.

Which part of Iowa?

What were the details of the trade? I was looking to do the same thing. I assume you took a hit in the pocket?

I'm waiting on my Crimson/Black to get out of port. I plan to do wheels/tires and KW's first.

Any photos?

That's a given. I was looking to trade my 328 myself after a year of ownership last December and I was to take between 6K to 7.5K loss so I didn't go for it.

I got my arse handed to me...gave me $34,000 for my car and bought the new one for $46,000...not to mention I was a little upside down in the '07. But, when I drove off, the pain went away.

I'm in Urbandale...just outside of Des Moines

Thanks for the replies...help me out with the "juice box." not sure what that is.

Don't do any engine mods until you get a quality boost gauge.

Cosmetically, corner marker delete should be the first mod, cheap and very quick.

That's only on the 328--imagine the 335 also takes a hit the instant it's driven off the lot. What a price to pay when the 335 gets replaced a year down the line. It's like one coulda saved and got a Carerra.

Had it for about 10 months. Bought it for around $41,000. I had no intention of trading so early but I drove the 335 and was hooked.

It doesn't help that BMW is giving away the 328 for $299 a month right now. I almost vomited in my mouth when I walked in to deal with them and saw those signs up.

Gonna have to keep this one for a while.

Out of curiosity, can I get some feedback on what flash is the best...and why no upgrade until I get a boost gauge? I understand its purpose but shouldn't these flash units be pretty well tested and not need one. thanks for your help!

I would say that the boost gauge is needed more for the Vishnu Proceed V2, but you don't need it for the other engine mods. The only flash available right now is from Dinan, the rest of the engine performance mods are add-on ecu modules.

Take some time to do some research in the turbo modification section here as well as n54tech.com for more detailed info. But if this is new to you, I think you will be in for a pleasant surprise as far the tuning potential of our engines.

I recently got myself a 328i a month ago.
after two weeks i started thinking about the 335 but did not gather enough confidence to talk to the dealer.

I will give myself a year and probably if i still feel the 335 is right for me, I'll go get it.

Last July, my 328xi was starting at $365 a month at $6K down for 24 months, and I was able to get it down to $305 a month, but seeing those new numbers is quite depressing

I did 2k mi in one month. a little too much for a new car even though my work place is walking distance from home.

I am thinking i will do this after 6 months when one insurance cycle will be done too. do you think the car will depreciate more than $6k ?

You'll need to monitor boost for sure, but that can be done via laptop hooked up to the Procede.

So no real reason to wait. Go for it. Piggybacks are always the first 'significant' mod people like to do, since it's the best bang for the buck.
