New order

Hi everyone,

So I placed a new order on a X1 25i recently and will have a March build.
In addition to the standard 25i equipment I went with:
-X line
-Sparkling storm
-Mocha interior
-Fine wood oak matt trim
-Sunroof
-Sport seats
-Dynamic damper control
-Sun glazing
-M sport leather steering wheel
-Anthracite roof liner

Now the count down begins!

Congrats

What colour have you gone for?

That's a quick turn around considering I ordered my 20i a week ago and I can't get it until June... Did they have one already on order that you managed to change the spec on?

Congrats - sounds great. Very happy with the Alpine White I've got, but wish I'd looked at Sparkling Storm on a real car before ordering: the brochure/website doesn't do it justice!

Congratulations and now the long wait!!
Look forward of seeing some pics of Sparking Storm. Like Vogit, I've only ever seen it in the brochure.

Thanks everyone.
The dealership was lucky enough to have a sparkling storm X1 in stock for me to look at but not with the spec I wanted. Looks great in person. The photos certainly don't do it justice.

Beast - I have to also wait to June julyish as well. Car only starting production March. Will be painful haha

Great choice of colour, and lucky you managing to see the colour before ordering it!
I will have to wait until I get mine in 2 months time!

Congratulations!!
Pretty similar spec to mine, bar colour (mine is AW) and I've downsized to 18" wheels. On the high seas now, due to debark on 11 March, maybe end March delivery

Congrats!!! I know it will be a beautiful car because yours is 99% like mine with Sparkling Storm exterior and Mocha Interior. The only difference is that in the US market I could not select Sport Seats and M-Sport Steering Wheel as options with X-Line.. Those are only offered as part of M-Sport Package... Sparkling Storm is also not available with M-Sport package, either... I think with your configurations you will definitely love the car!

You are right that pictures do not do the color justice. BMW website configurator has a very bad representation of Sparkling Storm color. In real life most of the time the color appears dark brown, but the color comes alive when light shines on the car. Depending on the light source and amount of light, the color can quickly change anywhere to light brown or dark olive green color.

Here are couple pictures of my car that I took while I was in Germany and in Pennsylvania after I took re-delivery of the car. When I took the picture of the car after car wash at the gas station in Munich, an Italian guy stepped out of his Porsche, ran over and walked around my car for about 5 times. He was so excited and complimented on the design of the car and the color.

So are we able to get the M Sport steering wheel as an option on the X Line now?

I ordered my Atlantic Grey X1 on January 9th. Not sure when it will be ready. My invoice says Delivery Date March 30th. But my guess is that is just an estimate.

Good question. I noticed on the configurator the m sport steering wheel is only available with the m sport pack. But the dealer let me order it.

Congrats on your order - that sounds like a nice car! I really like the Sparkling Storm colour myself, but my wife wanted white.

That's interesting about the M Sport steering wheel on an Aust spec X-Line. What's the price of that option? It's not in the options guide.

Yes, I'd be interested to know, too...although perhaps I was better off in my ignorance, as I was told only on M Sport package and accepted that...

To tell you the truth, I don't know how much the m sport steering wheel costs. On the contract it is listed as "included" rather than an actual price.

Why did you downsize to the 18"? is ride quality an issue on the 19s?

That was my experience, based on a couple of decent test drives on the roads I am used to. Many reviewers have expressed a similar opinion. The "standard" wheel for these is 17", so when you upsize twice, it is logical to expect the result will compromise both ride quality and road noise. I'm hoping the 18" wheels will reduce the issue, but if it's still a problem I'll change to non-RFTs.

No, as we aren't really into music, and the standard system sounded sufficient during the test drive.

My car is on the ship too, ETA into Melb 15/3 so not too far away now. Might be able to pick it up before April if all going well.

Your spec is exactly what I would have chosen if I had my way and could get the M Sport steering wheel on an X-Line. Wonder what else the dealer can order that isn't officially listed. Would have liked to order without run-flats if I had that choice.

I have the H/K sound system and like it just ok... I was disappointed to find out H/K on the X1 does not have equalizer. I was able to adjust the equalizer offered on H/K system in my F30 3 series to make the sound very rich. However, I am still happy that I upgraded the sound system. Since most of the time I listen to music when I drive, I enjoy the better sound quality from H/K over the stock model.

Yeah I was surprised at the lack of EQ as my F10 has it with HK... How would you rate the sound in comparison to your F30?
