He says in the video that he can't go into much more detail until the review early next week (assuming Tuesday). However, the biggest nugget to take away from this is the weight number of 3295 that his tells us is 230 lbs lighter than an M4. This actually made me even more excited!!!

It's a tech review. The embargo is on "driving impressions". MotoMan usually does tech first then a few days later releases the driving impressions.
His tech review has a good discussion of the M2 engine, which has been frequently "debated" in this forum. |

Funny he goes into all the detail on the exhaust manifold that allows for a twin scroll turbo but never actually says why a twin scroll turbo is advantageous.
I hope the weight figure is correct; even if DCT is 50 lbs heavier that's still FTW! |

It would be great if true, but then BMW would've knowingly been putting out misinfo. Also, why not mention closed deck? The engine is supposed to have S55 pistons, yet he mentions only the piston rings?

Back in Oct 2015, the press said that BMW was "targeting" a weight of 3295lbs. Fast forward to now, and BMW have since published an unladen (curb) weight of 1570kg or 3461lbs.

Without those 75kg (which are not part of the car) you end up at 1495kg or ~3296lbs. |
