Soon to be owner/searching for a BMW 330i
Hey im in the market for an 06 or 07 330i any tips for my bmw search/what to look for in a used bmw? Also what would be some good mods for a beginner? (Angel eyes, muffler delete etc...)

There is no 07 330i, it was only made in 06. Check for the usual issues these cars have. Overall the 330 is known to be pretty reliable. As for mod's I say f*ck what anyone has to say, do what you want to the car. Lol.

Any reason you're ruling out the 328i? They're effectively the same. The 330i boasts marginally more power but I think they have an identical 0-60, and you're going to have an easier time finding a 328i.
There are lots of threads on mods here, head on over to the NA section for N52 engine specific mods. It seems like literally everyone gets black kidney grills. Personally I'll be upgrading to an MSport steering wheel, getting better wheels/tires, and a few cosmetic upgrades. Maybe headers and the AA tune if I decide it's worth spending money on power. |

I don't know how far you're willing to travel but here's a low mileage one. If it was MT I would've test driven it already.

Thanks for the correction! And you're right! Just want a push in the correct direction as far as bimmer modifications.

If you're already looking at modding, may want to look for a 335. By the time you've dropped the coin on headers and a tune, you're probably starting to narrow the 328/330-335 price gap.
And check out cargurus.com in addition to autotrader, useful used car search engine. |

Also 330 vs 328i is really the same thing after OE intake plenum and tune, so no need to narrow your search range. Any 328i is equivalent to the 330i after $800 or so, plus then you get to have your pick with regards to color, options, etc.. Good luck OP! |

Agreed, but maintenance cost varies substantially with who's doing it and how quick you need it. I would argue that self performed maintenance and service on a 335i with parts purchased online would be still be comparable to the cost of maintaining and adding 50 reliable hp to the N52.

I agree on considering a 328i, light mods, bbk upgrade from the 135 (equivalent or performance option from Tisher under $2k) and you are there at 330 level and/or exceeding. Assuming you are looking for an NA engine which is what I wanted. Good luck, and yes a manual is a must in my book. [IMG][/IMG]

Here's some info on the headers, manifold, and tune on an N52 making 247HP at the wheels. Just something to consider since it may be hard to find a 330i 6MT. http://store.activeautowerke.com/pro...exhaust-header |

328i's are usually stripped because they are the lease specials
I would get a 330i because they have 255hp and most have the sport package don't buy a non sport package car

Much of the other stuff is the same. The 50 hp can be added but the torque simply can't be when on the cheap. The 335 wins out in that race everytime! Last edited by tlow98; 02-10-2016 at 11:04 PM.. |

330 only were made in 2006... 330's are great cars, but not really any different from a newer 328. Like someone said above, it is just the intake manifold that brings the extra power, it is the same engine.
6MT is always a must. Good luck in your search, get the car looked at by someone before you buy.

I think a must have for Pre LCI cars are Blackline Taillights. Anything M sport/tech is great idea too(steering wheel, shift knob, bumpers, and etc.).

Much better idea to get a 328 with Active Autowerke goodies ( flash, headers, intake and exhaust)
