Sports+ mode

Is there a Sports+ mode?
According to this review http://www.expressandstar.com/motori...r-to-the-spot/
you get the Sports+ mode if you have the Sport Automatic Transmission and/or Variable Sport Steering.

Can any one confirm if this is true?

TBH I never use it on the F10, I generally just use sport when I want the higher shift points from the auto box or knock the gear lever over into sport mode...

From what I understood when I asked my sales rep before placing my order, THE ONLY difference between sport automatic and regular automatic is the paddle shifters. Software is exactly the same. I opted to save myself the £200!!

Your link doesn't seem to work. But this is the first time I'm hearing that sport auto and VSS combo ads Sport+.

From BMW's press release:

Quote:
The Driving Experience Control switch on the centre console is available as standard equipment allowing the driver to select either COMFORT, SPORT or ECO PRO modes at the touch of a button, adapting the responses of the accelerator pedal, gearbox, damper settings and steering.
I'm sure if it had Sport+, they'd be boasting about it.

Just remembered, ttimbo's F48 is 25i with sport auto and VSS. Drop him a PM and see if he can confirm.

I have the sport auto and my sales guy told me that the only difference is just the peddle shifting including it programming which has a smart way to control the gearbox as they do react with how you use the throttle and the car goes to sport mode even without changing the mode button. I do really like those peddles and the way the gearbox reacts to it.

I dont think I would use this mode very often, but I got curious if the sports+ mode really existed on the X1 since i ordered mine with SAT, VSS and EDC, and i never seen anything about the sports+ mode in any documentation.
But in this review they mention it several times.

We'll have to wait for someone with the combo to confirm. I watched the whole video and noticed a few mistakes (LED headlights aren't standard with SE for example). But you're right, he mentioned Sport+ a few times. So can't be a mistake.

Just had a look at the BMW drivers guide I have on my mobile. Looking at the X1 there is nothing in there about Sport+ mode at all

For reference I checked my M235i that does have Sport+ and the difference between sport and sport+ is that in sport+ mode the DSC is turned off.

Apparently the X1 does have launch control though....

Alas, I await my X1, which is currently aboard the good ship "Bess" off the West African coast.

Yes, I do have all the options, but I've not read anything about a Sports+ mode, which I have on my F20, where it is intended for use when you want maximum traction by engaging the e-diff. Probably unnecessary on an AWD.
