Does the F48 have a HDD
Flicking through the brochure I couldnt find any reference to the nav plus having a HDD as part of the system. Am I right in assuming it will be the same as my 2 series professional navigation and will have the drive to copy music on to?

Sorry to say they aren't the same and there is no HDD.
I have the Navigation Plus 6UP (part of ZNQ package). Whilst I have never had the 'professional' system I think the 'plus' falls a long way short. I know you can't sent routes / import routes the way you can in the 'prof'. Also - I'm not sure but you can't give voice commands to the 'plus' without also having the enhanced Bluetooth (something I now regret not ordering but didn't realise at the time!) |

Thanks for the replies, It does sound as if it is different from the system in my 2 series.
We have the enhanced bluetooth ordered on ours as Mrs W like to have both her personal and work mibile connected at the same time, so I guess we will get the voice control at least. Even though most of the time it is willfully disobedient....

It appears that most audio/sat systems now do not have a HDD. I think this is mainly due to changing data storage devices and vibration issues with HDD in vehicles. My F20 has a large HDD in it but I have very little stored on it. I couldn't see the point of putting photos or other stuff on it when an Ipad or tablet has a better screen etc etc. I think it is also because most of us use either a USB drive or mobile phone for our music in the car and not a lot of people know how to use the on board storage. I just use my IPhone now. The handy thing is this way I know if the music doesn't come on that I am about leave home without my phone. I also have all my music backed up on a USB. I tried that out and it works just fine on the X1 system. I don't really need the internal drive. BTW. The screen clarity on the X1 is very good |

Interesting! Can you send a destination address from your iPhone to the Nav via connected drive?

From any internet platform you can send a message to the car. In the connected drive portal you can just put a postcode in the subject line and send. It also has a search function for the address and Google map where you can look for a specific place.
When you have sent it to the car, you pick it up in 'Messages' and enter it as a destination and/or save as a new contact where it remains in the vehicle. |

Just burn your CDs to a USB stick. I have a couple of 32Gb sticks that have different playlist sets, that I use in my F20
