Watch out for low flying aircraft

http://www.komotv.com/news/15940762.html

Some guy got nabbed on 405 this AM going 110. Very easy to do on that stretch between Canyon Park and Totem Lake... It looks like they're using old-school spotting techniques and no radar.

What a fucking ***. The cop who said all that probably drives a corolla to work. 110 its nothing in a sports-car. Plus that should be the speed limit in the HOV lane.

Yeah and this state is horrible for them too. The majority of what they do is ticket (revenue) generation. I had a friend nabbed for 3 MPH over the other day by a WSP!

I think that is a pretty damn expensive way to monitor speeding in a major metropolitan area. A remote stretch of highway (like I-90 east of the pass) I can understand, but running small aircraft around here? I've seen the speed markings on the side of I-405 too. This is a good reason to have a sunroof!

Anyway, I will have to disagree with you guys a little bit here. Doing 110 in the car pool lane on I-405, during the morning commute is monstrously stupid.** Look at the time stamp, is says 8:22 AM. And I know that Fran335 is being "tongue in cheek" saying that should be the speed limit in the car pool lane. I've been cut-off too many times in the car pool going 50-60 MPH that had I been going 110, myself and my family would probably be dead....

Cars are constantly moving in and out of the car pool lane during the morning, and at 110 MPH, he is covering 161 feet per SECOND! Considering that even most sports cars take about 150 feet to stop from 70, this guy has far less than 1 second to recognize someone in his way and react to stop.

In most cases, I don't really care if someone wants to drive those speeds with ZERO traffic around, but you've got to be much smarter about it than this guy. I'd never do those kinds of speeds on I-405, I-5 or I-90 (in town.) Now, at 5AM on a Sunday on I-90 between say, somewhere between George and Ritzville? It's on like Donkey Kong!

Oh, and that doesn't really look like a "sports car" to me. Possibly a VW? Looks like a small hatchback of some sort.

**ETA: Just double checked the date, and I thought it was on Monday, but it was actually on Sunday. So, not during the morning commute, but still not a smart time to "stretch the legs."

True that, I do only speed excessively when there is no cars around.. The driver is a moron, but the fact that they clocked him in the sky is just retarded... do they really have nothing to do with our tax money???

I have never been pulled over before. The other day, as I was pulling into a McDonalds drive-thru, I turned right on green and saw the cop. I turned right into the drive-thru, and he slams on his brakes and pulls right up on my tail, like literally, I could not even see the brushguard. So I continue around to take my order and at the last second, he pulls into a parking space and gets out and stares at me. I ignored him as best I could, then when I left, I didn't see him. Then out of nowhere, he shows up once again!! he rides my tail all the way to my neighborhood, turns his lights on, and says "License and Registration. I tell him to hold on while I got it, he said "slowly," as if I was some sort of criminal. Then he walks back to his car and sits for a few minutes. He walks back to my window and asks me where I got the car." I was doing my best to control myself, and I was able to do it, but he was treating me like a criminal. I tell him that it is my car and he says, your name is not on the registration. I said look again, and he says "Ok" and hands me my license and tells me that there had been a report of a car like I was driving as stolen. He never apologized. NOT all cops are jerks, but some are and it is those few that give them a bad reputation.
