MB A45 AMG
So was looking around for cars I could get for the other half in a couple of years - she prefers something smaller and more compact than a F30.
How insane is the A45 AMG?! 380+ horses in a hatchback AND its only a 2 litre turbo! That is one hell of an engine! May have to go and have a cheeky test over the summer. Given MB are dominating F1 presently, hope they keep pushing the boundaries (as sacrilegious as that sounds on BP) - competition is good! And again, that engine... |

I've commented before that the new MB design language really does nothing for me. Too soft and curved. The only exception is the A Class, that looks well proportioned and isn't too soft.
The old shape C63 AMG looked good, I was sorely tempted by picking one of those up instead of a new F30. My penchant for shiny new stuff prevailed... |

Maybe the A45 is better, but the A200 AMG Sport I can guarantee you is terrible, he's had the gearbox replaced and even the new box plays up, the suspension is rock solid but yet the handling isn't good, the rear passenger space is a joke, as is the boot space, and the infotainment system is very poor in design.

A lag-tastic, chintz-tastic 2.0 4 pot based on a FWD shopping trolley.....They love them in BD3...
One of my account managers has just got one the CLA version, I can't think of anything positive to say to him about it....

Some cars you just love, some you just don't, the A45 is one of them for me, they do the hatch/coupe/shooting brake in 45 flavour.

I drove the A45 with the sports exhaust. It is an amazing engine, the noise certainly turns heads!
IMHO it is a great weekend car, but I think I'm too old to live with this on a day to day basis. I think I would need to invest in a baseball cap and chunky jewellery. The C63 would be my preference. |

Was next to one at a roundabout this week. Had the full aero package and exhaust upgrade, sounded excellent for a 2.0l pertrol and the pops and crackles from the exhaust sounded fun.
