bean to cup coffee machines

So John Lewis have a bunch of trade-in offers on DeLonghi coffee machines until the end of the month. We have an old delonghi machine which is quite tired -leaks a lot etc. Lasted pretty well though. So we were looking at this as an opportunity to replace.

But their models are a minefield. Delonghi alone appears to have four different sub-brands, but even using their website compare tool I can't work out the practical differences. They have prima donna, Eletta, autentica and magnifica. Within each brand they have a few price levels - with/without milky frothy thing etc.

Anyone got one and can recommend one over the other? I'm leaning towards the prima donna as its slimmer than the others and has front loading water. Probably don't need the milk frother though as we don't usually drink milky coffee at home

I didn't go for the Prima Donna as I didn't think it was worth the premium. I got a Magnifica 360 and love it:

My brother in law bought the cheaper:

He's also very happy with it, but says its noticeably bigger than the 360 and noisier.

Do you get really frothy milk? It's one thing that really annoys me on coffee machines that it's all froth and no milk!

Based on JL cashback, our potential shortlist was
Prima donna xs £545
Autentica plus £500
Eletta cappucino £450

The autentica is coffee only, the other two have a milk container thingy.

Our current machine I think is the same one as your brother in laws - been very happy with it but it is noisy. Any improvement there will be welcome

Just use these, manages all coffee / tea requirements and also covers the ironing etc.

Great when you need to have a late meal prepared etc.
