How long to receive car in WA from Port Hueneme?

Hi there! Long time lurker but taking delivery of my MW/SS M4 soon. I've been tracking my car on its vessel and wanted to ask those of you who did the same: How long did it take your car to reach your WA dealer after arriving at Port Hueneme in California?

My vessel name is Cygnus Leader and it's supposed to arrive at Port Hueneme on 1/7. I will be taking delivery at BMW Seattle...the wait is killing me and the ship has already been delayed twice

Thanks and looking forward to joining the PNW crew

Matt

My car took about 7 weeks from the time I told the dealer to order the car until I had my dirty little fingers on it.

From European port from the day it gets on the boat until it gets to Cali was exactly 28 days. This is exactly what they quoted as well.

Order until completion 9 days
factory to port and on boat 7 days
On the boat 28 days
Cali factory to delivery to dealer 4 days
unwrap and get it ready 1 day

*I could be off by a day that was 9 months ago

That sounds about right. I've blocked all that "wait" time from my memories - it was agonizing.

I am a little different in that I didn't want to wait. There were plenty to pick from dealer stock.

Did you order a combination that wasn't available? Just curious.

Be sure and post pics!

Mine is 3 days behind your boat on the Gaia Leader. I did manage to catch a look at the ship going through the Panama canal a couple days ago on a live webcam. lol

Since mine is an ED car, customs takes longer for it though.

I believe it too me 9 weeks after it was loaded onto a vessel. Once my car arrived at port H. it took 4 weeks until it reached the BMW store in spokane. if you didn't do ED the wait will probably be must less. mine was just stuck at customs/PDC forever

At the time when I was ready to place my order (end of October), there weren't many M4s on lots, even fewer with manual transmissions.

I ended up ordering Mineral White on Silverstone leather with 6MT. I will definitely post pics! Also liked the appeal of ordering exactly what I wanted. I still had 4 months left on my current 335is lease at the time so I had time to wait for a custom order...although that wait is killing me now

Are you experiencing delays as well? My vessel has basically been going in circles waiting to dock in San Diego. I guess there's a backlog of ships at that port

Thanks for the info! My guy at BMW Seattle has told me that because my car is pre-sold, it should be expedited through customs and the transport to Seattle can take anywhere from 3-5 days.

I think mine arrived at the port on a Friday and I picked it up in Seattle a week from that Sunday.

Picked up the car last Thursday and loving it so far. I created an Intro thread here with pics: http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1218935

I know it's been raining lately, but anyone interested in having a small gathering in a covered parking garage some time soon? Would love to meet some of you other F8X owners I live in Bellevue.

I'd be interested in meeting up. I am a bit north of there. I don't have any thoughts on where to meet except I'd prefer not downtown Bellevue. bell/red/Kirkland/(king co. Bothell). PM me for a quicker response.

Congrats on the car, JiggaWang! Looks great. With your timeline, mine should be 3 days behind yours, but I'm in London for another couple weeks. Go figure.

Would love to meet up when I get back and take redelivery. I'm in Newcastle.

I think I can make next weekend too. One more week until you get your car... It's like being 6 on Christmas and knowing Santa's bringing you that bike with the tiger tail streamers on the handle bar ends, the banana seat and the race car motor sound thingee.

I pick up my car at the dealer on the 6th. So, no can do, and I'll catch you on teh next one. I plan to spend most of the afternoon putting goodies on the car that are taking up space in the garage.

Thanks!! It's YMB w/Amaro Full Leather (XT1)
6sp, Exec Pkg, Lighting Pkg, Adaptive Susp, Side/Top Cameras, Black 19" Wheels.

Basically, it is this car, except with Top/Side view cameras. I actually ordered that BMW Seattle car, asked to add Top/Side camera, and they (very nicely, and unbeknownst to me) used another allocation slot and ordered a second one.

Ah nice! I saw that car the last few times I went to the dealer and when I got mine. It's been sitting there for a while! Good call on the side cameras...I find them very useful!

Yeah, it's been there since Nov, but they have 11 M4s and like 6 M3s in stock now - winter/rainy season is tough M selling weather, my CA tells me.

Seattle BMW seems to purchase quite a few M3/4 as compared to the other 2 stores. they seem to always have 4-8 in at any time.

The brown with blue is a nice combo. Except the interior color it would seem your car is similar to mine. I got all the options except the CCB and the concierge package. All the packages, options even the rear sunscreen.
