Where to find plates

I want to buy a plate for my old dear's 60th (luckily she doesn't have an account to see this term of endearment), nothing fancy, something with her initials would do.

Short of DVLA or rev transfers etc, any other good places to look?

http://dvlaregistrations.direct.gov.uk/

Its the cheapest place, other websites give you enticing figures that exlude VAT and or the registration fee and usually works out quite a bit more expensive when all costs are factored in.
The DVLA prices are all inclusive, my own personal plate was only £250 all in.

I was looking to get myself a private reg recently but decided against it as I'm not 100% happy with any that I'd found. I noticed www.NewReg.co.uk seem to be a touch cheaper than the DVLA site listed above. Not too sure how as I thought DVLA are the ones who actually register/own the plates?

I'd suggest taking a look on there. I don't think there are any hidden fee's but as mentioned above just be aware when purchasing.

DVLA will always be the cheapest place if it's available - the others have to pay their costs and charge a mark up.

I recently bought 2 plates from the DVLA and both were about £30 cheaper than Regtransfers. Luckily they were both available on the DVLA site though
