Anyone tried hourly insurance cover via "Cuvva" app?

I just read about this app you can download which can give you instantaneous insurance cover for any car for anything from 1-24 hours.

Just downloaded it, registered myself on it, which took 2 mins and only needed my driving license. Then got some quotes from cars I knew the license plate of... For my own 335d it was £15 for an hour, £45 for 24 hours.

Not exactly cheap but could be very handy on occasion, especially for helping out other forum members try out other people's car with different mods! Or for when selling or buying a car privately.

Never heard of it but thanks I'm going to download it, sounds like something that could be useful on occasion.

Tried putting in a Ferrari 458 and you can only insure cars from £2000 to £30000

It only costs a similar amount to add someone to your own policy.

Problem is if one of my family, mates, stranger asked if they could get insured on my car ASAP I wouldn't have a friggen clue who I'm insured with off hand.

This may be true but this is much much less hassle. I see this as more for me getting insured to drive another car.

Actually when I think to the few times I've done it then I think this is slightly cheaper still.

I also think I'd rather someone drive my car on a separate policy than on my own one, that way if something did happen then my own claims history would be fine.

Well if you put someone on your policy and they bin the car it goes against them not you, I know this as I have direct experience of such a thing happening it was a 42k claim and I do not have to declare it and it didn't affect my renewal, he has to declare it.

For me and my piece of mind, I always insure with people like Aviva etc.. and TBH wouldn't want to trust smaller instant app style businesses that I haven't heard of and have little or no profile, especially when it comes to insuring my car, its really simple to add a friend etc..to your existing policy for a day or 2.

Just my 2 cents you understand.
