I have a 2011 535i that I bought used a couple years ago. It has the rear entertainment system, which is great for my little kids, but it is nearly impossible to work from the front once you are off and moving. Yesterday, I got coded to enable DVD in motion, hoping to get the video up front so my wife can work the system while we are on a road trip. If I have the DVD in the rear system, I get a message on the front screen that says "video not possible from the rear system". If I put the DVD in the in-dash player, it recognizes as a DVD, but all I get is a black screen. I don't have the DVD changer in the glove box. I have enabled front control in iDrive. Am I missing something? Is there any way to get the video up front so we can see what is going on in the back?
