335D Xdrive Questions
I've just put in an order for a 335 X Drive, but I have a couple of questions about it.
Firstly I test drove both a 2015 330D and a 2013 335, the 335D actually seemed a little down on power in comparison. I get that the XDrive system will add weight, but surely not enough to feel slower than a 330?. The logical reasoning would be the 335D I tested came out before the LCI refresh. But just to put my mind at ease, should the 335D (current model) feel punchier and quicker than the 330? Secondly, what exactly has changed in the 2015 refresh? From what I can see, there's minor interior changes (materials), LED light replacements, an updated grill, a 5 point mounting / suspension setup as opposed to the three in the previous model and that's about it? Also did the early 2013 335D models come with a the 8 speed steptronic? If it didn't it might also contribute to differences. Surmising, the 330D felt punchier and better to drive all round. But as said it was a much newer model. Finally, I'm wondering if it's worth keeping long term? I've gotten into the habbit of replacing my cars every year. Including deposits and accounting for negative equity, it's beggining to feel like a fools errand. Especially as the cars are getting shinier every year (well more expensive). Any thoughts / answers appreciated. |

I test drove a newer 335D today, whapped it in sport+ and all was right with the world. Feels a little bit more "linear" in power delivery than the 330D but packs a bigger wallop.. I gather I tried out a Pre-LCI one, so re-assured.
So just looking forward to recieving it now. Last edited by Firaxis; 12-30-2015 at 10:10 AM.. |
