Should prove interesting, we might see more car stuff.
However, hopefully it's not all £200k plus cars every week. Nice if they cover more of what people watching actually buy. Not sure they should do wacky stuff in the first series either. Well apart from blowing up caravans and Audi's |

TBH I don't want a car show that reviews 220CDI/320d/A4 TDI and run of the mill Vauxhall/Ford/VW cars for me that would be as dull as ditch water.

This sounds like 6th Gear more than TG... I'm not particularly interested in reviews, Practical Caravaner has plenty of those. I want car based entertainment, something that shows the fun you can have with vehicles (not just cars). Surely the point about non-dick, goofs looning around with supercars (ie cars "people" don't drive) a la TG is that it is the closest 99.99% of us will ever get to do it and what made it interesting and worth watching. Reviews can be watched online - there's a bloke who does it some bod called some'at Harris.... Apart from Sabine, it looks like a yawn-a-thon. I hope I'm wrong, but on the off-chance I have Amazon Prime. Last edited by Palexr; 12-23-2015 at 10:13 AM.. |

Agree, there's plenty of that crap on YouTube and because of that the market for proper reviews on TV must be pretty small so a well written entertainment show is what's still needed.

Chris Harris is one of the few motoring journos who actually knows what he's talking about. As a result, his YouTube vids have a loyal following. Good luck to him

I like it. Chris Evans can keep it rooted in entertainment but Harris and Sabine will give it much more car enthusiast credibility.

Chris Harris and Sabine Schmit, yes. DC is a little straight and boring, but I'll give him a chance and see if the format suits him. Chris Evans a definite no.

The independent say Chris Harris is the gamble!
I'd say the German woman and the boring ex F1 driver are the gamble! Hearing Chris Harris is going to be on TG is the first thing that has actually got me excited about the new series! |

Looking forward to the new series. Don't mind the presenters.
I was wondering on what DC was going to do, seen as the BBC have gave up their F1 rights to Channel 4. |

Let's hope the new programme actually focuses on cars and avoids the adolescent pranks which the old crew were so fond of - driving Peugeot 405s into ditches, smashing up caravans, demolishing buildings with diggers etc. Yawn.
Definitely go with the consensus about Evans - he is an insufferable tosser, fact. Let's hope the chemistry in the new TG team works better than Fifth Gear's. Found myself watching it last night. Proof yet that a programme can be made using presenters whose personalities have been surgically removed!

i love Sabine - loved the way she hustled that transit van round the 'ring as quick as Clarkson could in a jag
Chris Evans is a true petrol head and although people love or hate him, I think he will try to make a good programme
