61k$ in Canada, with proofs ;-)
Hi all,
Just received the product information from my advisor (friend) that works at a BMW dealership. Anyhow, pricing starts at 61k$cad Therefore, i doubt any will leave the dealer lot for under 70k before tx. There is no way it's worth 15k$ more than a m235i in my view. |

Hmm? its 61k fully loaded from what i've heard, you cannot get any additional packaged except for the DCT for 3.9k. So it will be either 61k or 64k depending on your transmission choice. Not over 70k.

So it's $15,000 more than a non-M car, the M235i. It's also $30,000 less than a comparably equipped M4. Seems like a bargain to me. It's likely a lot closer to the M4 in performance yet closer to the M235i in price... WIN!! The M235i isn't the car the M2 will be and if someone doesn't see the value difference, that's OK because it likely means the M2 wasn't really the right car anyway. I'd gladly pay the spread (and more) between the M235i (which is really isn't a track oriented or track capable car... it's a 2 series with more stuff but not that much in the way of true performance items) to get the performance and capability of the M2. But, if someone never cares to go near a track, sure, the M235i is great. For those into M cars, I think the general view is the price is VERY good value.

I think it is actually a very good price. The base Canadian M2 is basically fully loaded and is only $1100 more than the M235i performance edition, that wasn't even a real M car. |

Exactly, how can anyone complain about the price? There is also going to be a $1000 price increase on the M3 and M4 in Canada, starting January 1,2016.The M2 price will not change in the new year.

MSRP for a M3 in Canada is $74000 CAD or $53155 USD (doesn't include destination, did not check options, fees). The MSRP for a M3 in the US is $63,200 USD in a base configuration. The ratio of US to Canadian MSRP for the M3 is 1.19. Apply this ratio to the $61,000CAD/$43,800USD MSRP for the Canadian M2 and you get $52,077USD for a possible US M2 MSRP. This would be minus destination but if it matched the Canadian option list, theoretically with everything but DCT and paint. Conjecture.. but possible.

Agreed.... I walked into my BMW dealership ready to order an M4. I was willing to pay $100K for the car. I saw the M235i in the showroom and started asking questions leading me to the M2 order...I believe i can get 98% of the M4 out of the M2 for $15-20K less even if I add some key M performance parts and with the help of Dinan....
It is all worth it for the more compact M2 IMHO. |

Amazing price, I would need to test drive it to feel if there is an actual difference between my tuned m235i xdrive. Is it worth the upgrade?
If you are looking for the performance edition, there is a guy selling one. If you add a tune to the m235i, it is a beast. Not sure what happened but guy is selling at a loss... http://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/m...ationFlag=true Last edited by bobby66; 12-24-2015 at 01:29 PM.. |

For example, to me worrying about scratches and little dings is something I don't do... it's a car and I use it everyday and those things will happen. Big ones can be fixed and little things I ignore. Not saying I don't take care of the car (I absolutely do) but it isn't a garage queen Ferrari or something like that... it's my DD and I enjoy that experience more than worrying about collateral damage
