Volume level display - at last!!!

So, just taken delivery of my new F31 - I'm simply replacing my 53 plate F31, so no major surprises, but I was very pleased to see that, at last, I have a level indicator which pops up on the iDrive display when I adjust the volume!!! Previous model had business nav, new has pro, but I was under the impression that neither version had this feature. Probably got that wrong, but it's a very welcome (and very minor!) feature I wasn't expecting.

My car does it but tbh, I'm not bothered either way. Turn up if too quiet, down if too loud. Why do you need a display to show you?

Lots of reasons, but clearly none that will be of any concern to you, so don't worry about it!

Ok, here's just one...have you ever selected to play a track and for whatever reason it didn't start straight away (perhaps buffering if streaming, or an intentional pause at mastering stage, etc.), so you incorrectly assumed the volume was down and adjusted up, only for the track to suddenly kick in at some ridiculous volume? Level indication will prevent this.

I hate that the volume slider is blank / empty when you un-mute the stereo until you turn the volume up or down

Fully agree with OP on this one, very useful addition. Also like how it tells you whether you are adjusting the volume on phone, nav or entertainment.

Yeah, that is a bit odd. I guess they're giving you the option to reintroduce the audio gradually, rather than all of a sudden...say if a child is sleeping in the car and you need to keep the music low - going from silent to quiet when you un-mute will be less disruptive than suddenly loud to quiet?
