Hi Guys,

I have a 335i without M Sport suspension so looking at ways to improve handling. I already have a set of Eibach springs waiting to be fitted but have also read that retro fitting the M3 front control arms adds a significant improvement to front end turn in and feel.

Has anyone done this? Any thoughts on this upgrade would be welcome.
About AUD$645 for the parts excluding fitting.

Found the perfect summary on Tunermotorsport -

F22 and F30/F32 owners looking for more front camber should look at these M3/M4 front control arms (BMW calls them wishbones, part numbers 31122284529 and 31122284530). These are longer than the stock arms for a bolt-in negative camber increase of 1.0 degree. With camber being so important to handling improvements these are a must-have upgrade. They are a direct bolt-in replacement for the stock F22/F3X wishbones.

One of the other improvements in the M3/M4 design is the inner bushing. Instead of the rubber bushing that wears prematurely and deflects under load, these use a sealed steel bearing that is much more precise than rubber or urethane. The bearing allows complete freedom of motion without deflecting or twisting in undesired directions. But it's not a fully solid bearing so there is no compromises in ride quality. There's almost zero rubber too so the M3/M4 control arms will last much longer than a rubber part.

These are a direct fit to the F22 228/M235 and F3X 320i/328i/335i/428i/435i RWD models only (not AWD). An alignment should be done after the install. If the car has factory xenon headlights you will need the M3/M4 headlight leveling rod and bracket to replace your stock bracket (you can re-use your leveling sensor on the new bracket).

I have some on order for my F31 Msport.
Cheaper to buy from the US (for any parts that is).

I think the electronic steering also has a large effect on the poor turn in feel. For me it tends to feel lazy (quiet odd on occasions) especially in comfort mode. Not sure i'm a fan of it yet.. We'll see if the arms make a difference.
Ive read the F80 which seems to have pretty good steering uses a different electronic rack system to the regular F30/F31.. Would be an expensive upgrade though.

Trying to bring this back from the dead, but if there's a more recent thread, I'd appreciate the url.

For those who upgraded the FCA on their F30, what have your experiences been so far and how long have you been running this setup? Did you made additional suspension upgrades? Are you pleased with the results?

So far for suspension and stance I've added front and rear spacers, front upper strut bar, and a rear sway bar. I'd like to further improve handling, and especially reduce the soft steering in the front.

47k miles on the car, so also planning for either shocks and struts or coil overs in the near future, wondering if I should combine the install with a front sway bar, FCA, or other bits.

I ordered this kit, but just wondering about the spacers for mounting on non M cars. Does anyone used that, are they gonna last, not sure about the reliability of the spacers.
Actuacly I will understand once they come and I install it, but...
