Wheel Upgrade Advice
I have an F32 435i xDrive and am considering a wheel upgrade (19'' - 20'' HRE, BBS, etc). My previous car was an e92 328xi with 19'' VMR v710s. I loved the way they looked but the added weight and wheel diameter/width resulted in a noticeable decrease in performance and nimbleness.
Am I likely to experience / has anyone experienced this with a 435 despite the increase in power? Also worth noting that my engine is currently stock. Any insight would be much appreciated. |

not sure how heavy the VMR 710's are but you need to keep the overall wheel/tire diameter and width approximately the same as stock and run wheel/tire combination that is lighter than stock to obtain improvement in performance.
for tires i'd get the michelin pilot super sport which is the lightest/best performance summer tire. continental dw is cheaper and the absolute lightest tire however turn in is not as sharp due to the soft sidewall. for budget wheels look for ones where the barrels are flow/spun/rotary formed as they're decently light yet strong. most forged wheels are better/stronger/lighter than the factory wheels but it'll also make your wallet lighter. ^^ |
