Better to lease a 16 vs a 15?

All

I'm looking at either a 15 or 16 335/340 this month to lease. I don't have any real numbers yet but I'm wondering that even with a discount due to the residual if it may actually be cheaper to get the 340. Any general thoughts on this know the way BMW works?

If you want the updated, better car get the 16. If you're just looking for a new 3 series choose the 15 assuming it will be cheaper.

you should ask the dealer what the residual percentage is for a 15 335 and 16 340. They should provide it no questions asked. Even a percent difference would make $10-20 on a monthly payment depending on the exact msrp.

Residual for 10k miles is as follows

16' 62%
15' 60%

The only benefit to having the 15 is that dealers seem to be going 1-2k under invoice on them and BMW is giving a 3k credit for an 15'.

I was just at the dealer with my brother who was looking at both options and the difference is really only like 30 bucks a month for similar optioned car. To some people that might be a lot but the extra power you can get from the 340i is worth it if you plan on tuning it.
