Finally figured out my massive amount of 335i issues.
So the latest problem, i finally said screw it and took it to BMW to diagnose. They ran over 150 miles on the car "I allowed it", and found absolutely 0 issues. I removed the JB4 before i took it in. They had it for 6 days and found nothing wrong, ran stress tests on everything..
So it appears my JB4 has gone bad.

They originally quoted 99$ for a diagnosis, but after all the time they spent, they didnt charge me a penny. BMW of El Cajon, really great people.

They really are one of the best, changed my e46 fuel pump at 146k at no cost and didnt try to deny any warrenty claim, also price match parts for me since I do my own work on my 335i. Also very mod friendly.

Why didn't you just drive it yourself without JB4? I don't understand why you paid someone else to do the most obvious check possible, should have been the first thing you tried...

I'm in the Navy and work about 65 hours a week. Honestly just too tired to work on things atm. I also have a 2 year old daughter. And bmw offered 99$ to verify the cause.

Are you sure there weren't connection issues (e.g. dirty wire connections, loose connections, etc...)?
I had similar issues, which were remedied by cleaning all connections and re-installing. The glue from the rubber sleeves had worked its way between the wires. |

Glad you got it resolved but you really should have driven it around for a while without the JB4 to see if that was the problem as I had suggested. But I guess you simply didn't have time and wanted it fixed ASAP. Definitely can understand that.

+1 for BMW of El Cajon
First time i ever went to this dealer for service they did a free 100 something point check with printout, free alignment. This after going to just get an oil change. I have bought multiple parts there since I'm more of a DIY'er and all parts have come with a 15% discount for being part of their 50,000 mile club. Plus their service advisor, forget his name, is a great guy and is a modder himself. |
