Vacuum Canister delete?
Hey guys,
Just got my inlets installed and the vacuum canisters just kind of hanging next to them. Does someone have a DIY on how to delete them? Are they even needed after inlets ? Mods are in the sig btw. Thanks |

I think they help opperate the wastegate actuator at lower rpm and tip in before boost builds enough to full control the wastegates
Ie, it closes wastegates faster when you hit the gas |

I've seen pics where people have moved them to the firewall and also seen them moved to the charge pipe side. Really, they can be moved anywhere, I don't think they have a certain orientation they need to be in so it should be easy. Worst case you have to extend the vacuum lines.

You aren't going to be able to delete a vac source on a vac operated wastegate system. Well you could, but GL running the car.
As others have noted, best option is to relocate. Having gone to a boost operated EWG, i'm actually finding myself missing the precision of the OE vacuum system. It's a pain in the ass and a ton of lines, but the control it provides is outstanding.

Easy to do. Take off your engine cover disconnect the short line that goes to boost solenoids and take off the plastic lines that run to plastic line near the old airbox.
Take the hose that came with the kit and connect the shorter line to the plastic line by the stock airbox/oil filter to the vacuum canister and then the long one to the boost solenoids. Zip tie vacuum canister to cross brace close to firewall. |
