Quick shout-out to SPXXX!

Just wanted to post a write up about spxxx. I initially reached out to him to get a custom tune for a friends car.. He was extremely helpful and even offered free ethanol base tunes. Since then he has helped dial in that car, my car, and now onto another friends car. If anyone has any tuning questions or needs any help dialing in a tune.. go to him!! He is quick to respond to e-mails with little hassle. My car was running the best it ever has on one of his tunes.. Can't wait until my clutch is installed to drive the car again!

Just wanted to share that I am extremely satisfied Will get the car on a dyno asap and post some dyno charts of my FBO 08 335i 6MT with his e35-40 tune.

How dare you post a review and not a single log! Don't you know that's against the review posting rules?

it's through mhd.. you can flash different tunes through mhd, not just the standard mhd ones.

That tune really isn't dialled in at all. You have huge throttle closures for most of that log.

Clutch is slipping sometimes..could that be what your interpreting as throttle closure? I've never heard of that before

EDIT: also that run is with only DTC.. When DSC is fully off it spins so i keep it on DTC to get better traction

1. You need to have DSC completely disabled when logging.

2. Begin the log in 3rd at 2k RPM

3. You should be able to see evidence of wheelspin or clutch slip by looking at your RPM data.

How does your tuner not see throttle closures? It's sometimes caused by torque limiter kicking in.

No... Look at your load and load request. Your actual load exceeds you load request causing the throttle to control boost to keep your load on target with request.

I'm sure this wasn't by design as your boost is also above target, which leads me to agree with CarAbuser. My assumption is if load is increased, the throttle closure would subside even though your map is still exceeding boost target due to throttle mapping changes which were common with COBB & JB4 maps. I have stopped using this because it causes low load oscillation and throttle plate bouncing which is noticeable if you know what you're looking for.

Not saying that all of my tunes are perfect, but my new v6 MHD maps will be geared more toward boost targeting and using load to shape the power curve. (load by gear) Throttle closures will happen, but shouldn't be drastic like this or noticeable, just enough to keep power consistent and smooth. (Minimize wheel spin, Maximize performance)

Yep, we moved from a lower E85 blend to higher E85 map and load targets didn't get updated from the previous map when we changed the WGDC mapping which is the cause of the throttle closures. Still a work in progress.
