Melbourne bimmer cruise day - photos
A good cruise was organised over the weekend through the Dandenong ranges, Warbaton, Lake mountain, marysville and Healesville.
A great turnout on the day set out at 8.30am at a local petrol station in Narre Warren to cruise over 200km starting from the beautiful tranquility of country Victoria. Things got really fun when we opened the throttle through the open roads (tested our vehicles speed limits!!), up the mountain (handling and rallying driving test) and downhill (time attack style) to end up in the most remote but breathtaking scenery. The group consisted of a great mix of individuals and their unique cars ranging from sleepers, many 3 series, to a monster rocket V10 M5. Not all were tuned, not all were turbocharged, not all were new and not all were petrol (a few diesels came in), but they all had one thing in common...they were all owned by regular chaps with a passion for driving. We weren't all Pro-drivers. We weren't out to prove who's better We weren't a pack of hooligans. We we just a group of random people with everyday normal jobs, living a normal life, with a busy lifestyle and family commitments, who managed to get 5hours out of their life to come together, meet a group of unknown people on the forum they've never met, for one purpose...escape from reality and experience life!!! A big thanks to "socket"...the man responsible for the event, and his daughter for her photography skills. Everyone were given uhf radios so we could communicate with each other while driving (a real good use for these kind of events), to ensure everyone stuck together and didn't wander from the group, and crack a few jokes here and there to keep the crew entertained. We took breaks in between destination points for those with nicatine addiction and weak bladders. Got great photos of nearly every stop, and had a 1hour lunch at beautiful Marysville. Noticed that there were other enthusiasts out to play along our path (motorcycle groupies, cyclists, Holden Torana clubs, JDM groups etc... Funny enough a little Nissan micra pulled up next to us in our parking area as we set for lunch...wanted to join in (got this on the picture below). Was the event expensive? No Was it worth it? Yes Did we ALL enjoy it? Hell Yes!!! Would we do it again? No hesitation about it. So for all those who lurk on the forum and sneak a peak here and there, my advice is this: Dont be scared to come out. Dont be shy. Most of us dont even know one another. If you wanna meet great people, learn from others, and want to go for a spirited drive, instead of just letting the car sit in your garage...dont be afraid...live a little...it might just be the best 5 hours you've had in a long long time... Hope you enjoy the photos... Cheers... Last edited by terminator335i; 08-05-2018 at 09:48 AM.. |

actually it was originally on the e90 aussie forum but i reposted it in the f30 forum, 1 and 2 addicts, and m3/4 aussie forum, for anyone interested.
there are more photos in the e90 aussie forum titled "melb cruise day". if you missed out and want to attend the next event, I"ll be organising one on sunday 15th november 9am. its been posted as the title "melbourne meet and coding session" as HFW003 pointed out above-mentioned. |
