N20 Sensor with MHD?

I bought an N20 sensor and a BMS adapter to be able to read slightly higher boost. I'm currently running the MHD E40 map and it's maxing out the stock sensor.

Do I have to make any changes with MHD to use this sensor? Or will I need a custom tune?

Yes, when you load a tune, an options menu can be pulled up. You need to check N20.

The N2O sensor allow you to read to about 22.6 PSI. My MHD E40 OTS map maxes it out. There were no gains from switching to the new sensor and it caused drivability issues. Mine was surging under part throttle. Installed the stock sensor back on this weekend and the surging went away. I think the MHD N2O table needs some tweaking.

Interesting. When I get it installed I will report back.

What does this do? I've heard of it but have yet to find a cohesive and complete explanation. Do I need for the N20 sensor?

I have to take back my last statement. After some more driving the surge is back.

Basically allows you to tune and see above 21.5/22psi. Right now, you wouldn't know what psi you are at if you are boosting 22+psi

I thought Ken had indicated otherwise, but his description there does say you need inlets if you're running stock turbos.

MAXBoost scales the voltage from the TMAP allowing you to show 15 psi to the DME, but actually run 20. So 20 is actually 30....

MAXBoost is hardware based and replaces the N20 adapter. I have three more in stock at a reduced price of $150 plus S&H. Once they are gone, they can be purchased through BMS for $180 plus shipping.

To report actual boost with MAXBoost, you need to buy the MBoost option license also which enables the MAXBoost check box in the logging parameters. Once checked, the MHD logger will correct the boost scaling to report actual boost and not reported boost to the DME.

The big advantage to this over other options like a piggy is we are not screwing with any other values that are reported to the DME. Data logging is much faster and provides 31 channels of data. MAF and calculated load targets are lower and PID is in full effect which allows for better WG control.

So with the N20 sensor, BMS adapter, and checking the N20 sensor box in MHD, I will be able to read up to 22.6psi?

And then with the N20 sensor, MAXBoost module, MBoost license in MHD, and checking the MAXBoost box in MHD, I will be able to read up to 36psi?

Can the MHD OTS maps be used when adding just the N20 sensor? How about when adding the N20 sensor AND MAXBoost module?

Any downsides to using MAXBoost? Seems like by scaling the voltage output that you are losing resolution in the signal, and possible causing driveability issues?

You can run the OTS maps with the N20 and the N20 check at flash.

You cannot use the OTS maps with MAXBoost because they are not scaled correctly.

We run a 1:1 boost ratio up to 10 psi so you have zero driveability issues. At WOT the DME calculates MAF and LOAD based on the scaled voltage so 15 psi is 20 psi actual. Your load should be around 150 and well within range.

Because the N20 scales to 50.2 psi at 4.5 volts, you are not losing any resolution. The MAXBoost is seeing actual voltage and then converts it based on our table conversion to report a 50% correction from 10 psi up. When MHD is MAXBoost enabled, it converts the boost at a 50% rate from 10 psi to show actual boost.
