Worst Experience Jb4 install
So coming into my jb4 install, my phone decided to stop working, I had no phone but I had somewhat of an idea how to install it, I started doing it and I have no tools so it took me several hours just to get to the ecu.. I get there plug everything in, as soon as I try to turn the car on a bunch of warning lights.. you can hear the ignition try to start but it won't turn on...

Go back, re check all your wires and than try again.
I did that 4-5 times until I finally realized I had the black and white plugs in wrong lol.

Make sure those black wire connectors are full seated and locked in. That can cause issues.

That being said, I had similar issues the first time, just uninstall and reinstall like everybody said. Also, if you have to force the sub connectors into their locks then it's the wrong one. I have issues with that part. Good luck Op |

Yup. Charge your phone. Buy an 8mm socket driver and a pic. Watch the video, Do it correctly in 20 minutes. Realize why you should have done this to begin with. Obviously you're posting here so you have some sort of connection. Try your computer, iPad. Phone, etc till you can see it.

So let me get this straight:
1) You started with no tools. 2) You did not watch or read the instructions before you started. 3) You were trying to watch or read instructions on a phone with a low battery as you were doing the install. You should have tried it with a blind fold, ear plugs and handcuffs on the side of the freeway. LMFAO! And you are somehow surprised that the installation did not go well? Do yourself a favor and pay someone else to work on your car. Thanks for the laughs. Wow.

While I understand that I am an idiot for getting this easy install wrong I don't think I deserve all the hate.. my phone decided to stop charging, I printed out directions from my printer and I began the install.. I got everything pretty much done but I felt like my main ecu connector in wouldn't click down all the way I asked my brother for her he ended up trying to shove it in without the slider.. now it seems to be stuck.. I told him it shouldn't go in without the slider but he tried anyway and he got it stuck.. I believe that to be the reason I don't think it can go all the way in without the slider on can it? I know I made a few bad moves but like everyone else here on the forums I was eager to make some more power and I rushed through the install.. I know I deserve what's happening because I didn't prepare properly but in all honesty my main goal is just to get my car running again.. for my mistake I've had to get my mom to drive me to work and my gf to pick me up.. I feel very embarrassed about this because it really doesn't take a lot to install this successfully but I somehow screwed it up...

is this your first ever DIY?? The reason I ask is because you sound just like the kind of douche who would attempt to install something that deals with your cars main computer and could potentially fry everything if installed wrong, HALF ASSED!

Update: so I got everything installed right car turned on and took it for a test drive, it drove perfect. I let it warm up by driving around a bit, on my 3rd WOT pull it started making this sputtering sound everytime I give it more than 20% throttle..

Tunes will exploit aging coils, plugs etc. Read your codes!

Should have started with intakes first. Now the sputtering. Do you have the USB cable? Log it or read the codes.
