I don't think it matters much which one you pick in the Bay Area - they're all pretty similar - none of them stands out as being good, unfortunately. That's the reason they all have mediocre ratings on Yelp.

I got my last two cars from him. I think he's a lease return manager over there. I've tried a few dealers and sales guys and so far he gave me the best deal. He always go direct to the point saving you some time.

Avoid Stevens Creek BMW. They wouldn't sell me a 340i for anything less than 500 below MSRP.
I ordered from Jake Ekstrum at East Bay BMW in Pleasanton.

I agree with the other posters here, the dealers in the area are pretty much the same. Some of us have better experience from one over the other. Try contacting the fleet manager directly, sometimes that help. |

Unfortunately the salesmen at most of the dealers here in the south bay have an attitude that can get annoying at times. You have to explain to them that you know the difference between BMWs and Ferraris, please cut the BS and just do your job. The Audi salesmen are equally bad if not worse.
Of all the ones I dealt with so far, Peter Pan BMW was the most pleasant experience and the price they quoted was reasonable too. I didn't end up buying a car from them - ended up buying a non-bimmer for my second car - but I would gladly go back to them the next time I need to buy. Fremont BMW was pleasant to deal with too. They have dedicated test-drive demo cars, so you don't have to feel guilty about putting miles on what's going to be someone's new car, while doing the research that you definitely need to do. I would go back to them too. I've never tried dealing with anyone in SF or Oakland.

Haven't purchased yet, but have had much more pleasant experiences dealing with the salespeople at Mountain View vs Steven's Creek.

I purchased mine from Lee Cai at mountain view BMW. Tell him I sent you. Had a very good experience with him. You need to deal a little but he was willing. I have owned my car for a year now and he follows up politely.

I ordered my 340ix at invoice in early September from Eric Peng in Mountain View. I like him more than others I talked to. Dave Parker at Stevens Creek wasn't willing to go under 1K over invoice - but at least he told me about the 1.5K discount you can get if you work for some of the large companies (further off the negotiated price). Calvin at Fremont was giving me a good price too, but it took more prodding than with Eric and for me Fremont is further away.
Try both Calvin and Eric. |
