Different wheels > tyre sensors?

Apologies if this has been posted already. What happens if I run different wheels without sensors? Car will detonate / eject pilot? Or is it as simple as a warning light which can be ignored?

As mentioned above, you will have a tire pressure light on your dash. I'm sure you can have it turned off.
