48k for a Passat?????

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classifi...ssat&logcode=p

I appreciate its the most powerful engine in the top trim level and loaded with options but 48k for a Passat? Are you kidding me? I'd love to see who is going to pay that.

3 years time it will be worth £15k max. Probably not even a decent but then given you will be able to buy a 320d touring for similar cash.

According to VW their diesels have lower emissions than an electric car. Maybe they need to see a lot of these to help them recover from this mess.

Personally I would go with this bad boy, virtually the same car and better looking as well and a much better engine!

yes but its no peoples car, the reps in this will be more junior

In all honesty you would be wanting a full spec 340i msport for less than this kind of money which is an order of magnitude over a passhat!

The Phaetons are rather nice though, aren't they the same chassis as various Bentleys?

A Passat comes in at 320d sort of level.

Personally never liked them (as have mentioned a number of times)

However 3 series being so bloody common have lost a lot of their premium image.

That coupled with nearly all E90's being Chav Charriots these days, at least around here they are.

That is an absolute joke! I have a fully loaded 335d and it cost me much less than that new, so how can a 4 cylinder diesel from VW cost that?! :

Yes to be fair the Phaeton was a very very well engineered car. Great bargain for someone after depreciation.

At 6 seconds and it's power it is effectively competing against a 330D Touring M Sport xDrive which C2C are giving at £31,406 base price!

Ah well, some old duffer will buy it and think it's the dogs danglies
