Gloss black AC trim upgrade
Hi all,
I just upgraded the ac trim to the gloss black one, just thought I'd share it with you guys. It is the standard trim that comes out on the 2015 model 2 series. It definitely lifts the interior and looks a lot better than the original dull plastic one Thanks to Stu@BMR for helping me install it Result Before |

How much? Easy to install? I've heard bad things about the gloss black? Eg. Finger prints.
Would love to hear your thoughts

Here is the part no. 64 11 9 338 772 A reference on ETK for you, ignore the prices they have listed on ETK as it is for their partner prices aka BMW dealerships, so we will never be able to source the part for that cost. http://www.etk.cc/bmw/EN/search/sele...CE/64/64_1873/ Was a factory fit option for any car made after the 03.2015. And no, definitely no issues because of where it's located. We rarely ever touch this piece so the only issue will be dust. |

Was looking at the piece on the car today... The vent area is still the old black plastic look and gloss black doesn't look strange?
It looks good in the dark but with the "flash" not as good

You have to see it in person, it definitely doesn't look strange. I should have taken photos during the day. Pop onto carsales and have a look at all the 2015 models and you will get the idea.

I find this confusing. Gloss black trim has been base trim for most luxury cars before onset of metallic trim. I'm still traditionalist and prefer the minimalistic interior of our BMWs. Glossing not my cup of tea, especially where there's plenty of matt plastic and metallic trim left in the cockpit.

The F8X M3/4 all have the gloss trim and I daresay the new M2 will have it as well. Likewise with all the new Volkswagen GTi models/scirocco a lot of gloss black is used in the interior. To my knowledge all the new BMWs are going to have a gloss trim piece. I've always found wood grain and silver more suited to the luxury car image |

As noted, thankfully we each have different taste. But for me in a Beemer, wood trim doesn't go. Maybe because I don't wear cardigans or tweed.....
