MSport F31 and Interior Comfort Pack

Bit of a long story but I originally ordered my LCI F31 at the end of May but did not spec the interior comfort pack. After a few weeks I contacted the salesman and asked if I could add it. He said no problems as LCIs build did not start until July! I assumed it was added but guess what the salesman has moved on and no comfort pack when I checked in July. Lucky for me I had the emails and the sale manager basically said I could reorder or they would add the comfort package to my car (at their cost) except the folding centre headrest which could not be added. This was a balance but I accepted (there were reasons). When I collected the car at the beginning of September guess what - no comfort pack. They said this will be sorted and I am waiting them to contact me to arrange but looking to get some information.

My question is - what does the interior comfort pack have on an MSport LCI? I think I already have a folding centre headrest (the centre one folds down), there is a 12v in the boot and a strap/net on the side of the boot so these now look like they are standard. There are no nets on the back of the seats, no 12v for the rear seats and no aluminium bar divider thing in the boot. Looking to understand exactly what should be included as the pdf spec book is less than clear.

PS - the B47 engine is much smoother than the old 20d and just got 62mpg back from Cornwall

Thanks

Jonathan

Sorry to hear about your order problems

Interior Comfort package ZIC Comprises:
– 465 Through-loading system
– 493 Extended storage
– 563 Extended lighting
– 5DC Head restraints, rear and folding

Since 465 is standard on the F31/Touring and 563 is standard on an M Sport, it just gets you 493 and 5DC

So in summary it sounds like your salesman attempted to correct not adding ZIC originally by adding your missing 2 components. He added 5DC on it's own by the sound of it but forgot to add 493 as well (Why he didn't just add ZIC I don't know)

So to conclude you just need the dealer to try and retro fit 493 - Extended Storage:

The Extended storage package offers a number of additional practical storage options for various objects in the interior and luggage compartment. Among other things, it includes nets in the rear on the back of the front-seat backrests. The rear passengers benefit from a 12 V power socket in the rear centre console and a comfortable centre armrest – featuring two cupholders and a storage compartment – on the rear seat. The package also encompasses a range of features in the luggage compartment, including a height-adjustable cargo net, two fastening points and a tensioning strap on the left, along with a 12 V power socket on the right.
Benefits at a glance:
additional compartments make the vehicle even more practical
stored objects are easy to access, secure and orderly
electrical sockets for additional electrical devices
makes transporting things safer.

Hope that helps and good luck in getting it sorted
Joe

Front storage pocket by drivers knee
Folding outer headrests

Thanks for the update - what do we think is in the extended storage option then? I also have active cruise start stop so have a button near my right knee so I think I lose the storage there... What is the aluminium bar thing which attaches to the floor of the boot to split it and stop things sliding around?

I thinking;

Nets on back of seats
12v on back of centre arm rest
Driver storage (right knee) if u don't have other options eg start stop cruise.
Aluminium thing in boot?
Other nets in boot?

I was just updating my reply as you posted that

I've just found a better description of Extended Storage including the aluminium load restraint bar thing or "Adaptive Fixing System" in BMW speak - See quick pic I've just taken of the brochure:

The under floor stuff on the F31 is great, it's amazing what you can hide away in there.

It actually holds a fair bit.

Great for mucky walking boots or hitch hiker body parts

Absolutely, I referred to it as the "guns and drugs" compartment in my M4

+ perfect for stopping takeaways from redecorating the boot!

Actually not far from the truth.

Ideal place for shotgun.

Also my arrows fit in the forward section no problem at all.

Sawn off presumably? - I imagine you could get a H&K MP5 and a couple of Browning HP's or Sig's in there nicely
