Anybody been able to find an M235i Space Saver"

I'm thinking about having a Space Saver spare on hand to take on country trips where the road side assistance is non existent or hours away. I don't want to be stranded for hours for the sake of a spare or a flat that the on-board compressor cant fix. So maybe a Space Saver just to pack for those trips is the answer. Anybody been able to acquire one of these - if so are you able to let me know where from please?

The US forum has examples of kit people have put together to ensure they can fix the flat, including decent compressors. Cant remember the thread but I am sure search will turn it up.

You could try to build the above kit from an AUS dealer or it may be easier to just buy an aftermarket wheel/tire and source the wrench and jack yourself with a tie down kit. And at the very least a hand pump and tire plug kit.

The SEARCH function on this site discusses in more detail.

Unfortunately AUS BMW dealerships aren't able to order the spare tyre kit, due to unknown ADR compliance reasons.

I believe people in the US have confirmed that the e82 1 Series spare tyre kit works for our cars. You can buy it off ECS Tuning.

thanks for the information - looking at the price and the exchange rate I think I will have a hunt about for a wheel somewhere else - I'm sure I can source a jack and wheel brace/socket wrench cheaply - I already have the jacking point/ hockey puck thing from ECS.

The kits I've seen would end up costing a grand by the time you get them here. You'd think there would be a cheaper way to source something locally...

The problem seems to be clearing the brakes on the 235's.
