It might be the plastic film covering they put on it pre delivery. I noticed it only recently after 6 months of ownership when the edge of one started peeling. It's hard to spot and the dealership must have missed it.

Dealership left both clear stickers over my seats.. I left it that way for about 2weeks and then pulled them off.. I was glad they left them.. that same feeling of pulling the plastic back from a new cell phone.. Love it! But neither look cracked.. Look FWD to your pics to see what your describing

Nope. I intentionally removed that off the passenger seat and left the one on the drivers seat on because I knew I'd be rubbing up against more than the passenger side. Maybe it's the chemicals from the hair on them girls I be rolling with. Lol

Yeah, I would also have a hard time trying to care. Keep up the good work BC!

Interesting - That looks EXACTLY like "stress cracks" that I found on the steering wheel roundel of my M5. I mentioned to my SA and they replaced it -- In my case the cost was substantial as it was not simply a roundel swap or a "let's just put another roundel on top of the defective one..."; instead it required a replacement airbag unit.
Bring it back to the dealership to replace. I'd be surprise if they didn't do so. Some might call this nit-picky -- Me? I call this keeping an $80K+ car looking good... Good Luck with this. |

This! People need to spend more time driving their cars and less time worrying about them. The threads are getting worse and worse.

OP...could this be a sun exposure issue? If your car is outside and not garaged during the day, it is possible that the heat and sun exposure may be causing these "fractures" in the emblem. I garage my car at night but during the day, my vehicle often sits outside in the elements...the Florida sun no less.
My F80 was a 37 week build...no issues yet.

It took you over a month to post 1 pic... C'mon man... Anyhow.. I would suggest just asking your dealer to replace .. It's a minor detail.. but its a new car and shouldn't be cracking let alone this early... Like Vigilant suggested.. could be the Sun/Heat... are your windows tinted? Car left outside all day?

OP, While your back does cover the emblem and in all honesty the badge is one of the worst gimmicks on this car, see your SA and see what can be done. While the M5 steering wheel issue is interesting to know they would go to such extremes, it will be interesting to see how BMW deals with a material issue in the threshold of their good quality clause.
