E90 Spoiler....what are you thoughts?
Hello all,
I have 2 questions: 1. What do you think of the E90 factory spoiler? Would you just wait for aftermarket? 2. If you get a factory E90 spoiler, and you factory order your car, does your car's spoiler get added in Germany in the production run, or does it just get added at the local BMW shop where you ordered your car? Thanks, e4. |

i'd wait to see if there's gonna be 'better' out there or is that all the market is gonna give. it's small and more like a edge lip than a wing, and that's all i'd be interested in but don't really like it.
i liked how the wing of say the old 3 series integrated to its trunk than now. |

I first hated the OEM spoiler, thats why I didn't order it.
After I saw a few in real life and in pics(e90post photo section), I decided to buy the OEM spoiler over any other aftermarket spoiler currently available. it looks beautiful to me now.

I'm still on the fence with the OEM rear spoiler. For now, I still don't really like it. I don't like the front OEM CF splitters either, but I do like some of the aftermarket front lips out there.

i don't think it looks that bad. i'm thinking about getting one myself but i will definitely not pay $300 or so for it since it's really not that significant.

I ordered mine at paul miller and got about 1/4 discount price...
that is why I ordered it and I'm looking forward to have it installed on my 330... I think the blackline taillights and the spoiler go well together! so I'm going to get the blacklines also... |

The OEM spoiler (read: lip) looks great in real life! Doesn't spoil the lines of the car at all....it even adds to the lines, if you ask me. I got it on my titanium silver and get daily compliments on how it looks. Actually, the 'stock' look of the rear looks a bit bare without it many people say. I do agree. It's a matter of taste, I guess.

I purchased the OEM spoiler and installed it myself. I like it because it is conservative, but not so small that it's a senseless addition like that silly lip I've seen offered. The ACS spoiler is similar but more obtrusive; I think that one "spoils the lines" though it too doesn't look hideous. There are several other wings and things, which I totally do not care for.
It's subjective and up to your personal tastes. I'm not concerned about others' opinions with the looks. |

I agree, it does compliment the lines well. However it is really mild.
Personally Im waiting to see what else comes out, same goes for the blacklines. They are nice, but i want to see what else is in store for the e90s. .

Here is the Mattig lip I don't much care for. The only purpose it serves is to catch pencils from rolling off the trunk lid.
And Ben, I doubt that any of these small spoilers have much of any impact on performance, especially at the speeds we are driving our cars at. As for the added weight, the OEM spoiler is pretty light. You can easily pick it up with your thumb and index finger. I believe my In-N-Out Burger Lunch weighed more than my spoiler did. |

Mattig rear spoiler looks good ONLY if you have the extended rear bumper.
trust me on this.

What do you think?
